The new V6 Thornton Whistle in D, C and B flat
During my 20 years of whistle making, I have produced a few different versions of whistles from brass, aluminium, wood and now brass again!
This is the 6th version of D whistles that I have produced and this is a new whistle that encompasses all the positive traits of my previous designs. I have enlisted some help in manufacturing these whistles, and I use the experience and knowledge that I have gathered over the last 20 years to fine tune and enhance the tone too.
These whistles are tuneable with a polished brass body which gives a bright, responsive tone. The delrin plug in the mouthpiece helps to reduce clogging too.
All whistles will be sent in a protective case.
While these whistles are manufactured to my specifications, I make certain adjustments to each individual whistle to improve the tone and tuning. I finely cut angles, or chamfers, at the entrance and exit of the windway to improve the airflow which can vastly improve the tone. I also use very fine sandpaper to smooth the inside of the note holes to create a clearer tone too.
